Enikő Gyöngy is an enamelist and goldsmith whose work draws on ancient enameling traditions and Hungary’s folk and applied arts heritage. Her practice combines technical precision with a focus on material, form, and meaning, bridging craft and cultural symbolism.
Alongside her studio practice, Enikő has long been committed to teaching and community-based craft, including founding the Gyöngy-ház Creative Workshop and leading folk art programs with the Motolla Association, both based in Debrecen, Hungary.
As a recipient of the 2026 Réka Darida Legacy Award, Enikő will reconstruct a period hatpin inspired by a cloisonné-enamel hat ornament from the Déri Museum in Debrecen, and reinterpret its motifs in a contemporary jewelry series documented in print and digital form.
