Judit Szász is a Transylvanian leatherworker who discovered her passion for the craft after exploring various other arts. She trained in leatherwork at the Vocational School of Folk Crafts and Arts in Budapest and has been an entrepreneur since 2010, crafting leather goods and teaching others.
Judit is dedicated to preserving the traditions of leathercraft, collaborating with cultural institutions and participating in international projects such as INEXTEX and Lifelong Learning Europe. Her work has earned numerous honors, including a Gold Certificate for her Gyimesi leather belt at the 2021 National Folk Art Exhibition.
With the support of the Tulipán Foundation, Judit researched the leathercraft techniques used to create men's leather belts in various Transylvanian regions. In addition to recreating these belts, she also shared her knowledge through workshops to ensure the craft is passed on to others.
