Márta Legeza is a skilled basket weaver deeply committed to preserving and promoting traditional Hungarian crafts. With a background in French language, literature, and ethnography from Eötvös Loránd University, she has been working at the Hungarian Heritage House since 2010, where she develops educational programs and oversees folk craft training courses.
Márta’s expertise in basket weaving has been refined through extensive fieldwork across Europe, where she studied the craft in countries such as Denmark, France, and Italy. Her basketry has been showcased in numerous prestigious exhibitions throughout Hungary, earning her accolades such as the Young Master of Folk Art Award and a Gold Certificate at the Living Folk Art - National Folk Art Exhibition.
With the support of the Tulipán Foundation, Márta organized masterclasses for talented basket weavers and collaborated with other craftspeople to create a professional manual, further elevating the craft.
