Gergely Farkas is a skilled felter with a passion for preserving and teaching traditional crafts. With a background in environmental science from Eötvös Loránd University and museology from University of Debrecen, he combines his expertise with his artistic talents.
Gergely’s work highlights the beauty and practicality of felt-making, an ancient craft rooted in resilience and cultural memory. His felt creations, inspired by Hungarian and Central Asian motifs, have been widely exhibited and earned him honors such as the Pomegranate Award at the Living Folk Art - National Folk Art Exhibition and the Young Master of Folk Art Award.
With the support of the Tulipán Foundation, Gergely focused on the traditional decorative art of Hungarian shepherds and the vernacular architecture of the Zselic region in Southwest Hungary.
