Gabriella Kovács is a textile artist who transforms yarn, wool, and felt into sculptural, three-dimensional forms. She studied set and costume design at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and later trained in tapestry weaving with Éva Rónai, developing a practice grounded in felting.
Gabriella’s work blends weaving and felting into a distinctive visual language defined by material sensitivity and refined craftsmanship. This interdisciplinary foundation informs both her sculptural pieces and wearable forms.
As a recipient of the 2026 Réka Darida Legacy Award, Gabriella will create a felt art collection inspired by historic Hungarian textiles and natural symbolic forms, culminating in a solo exhibition at the Monád Gallery in Hungary with a digital catalogue.
